The summer of 2020 became a forum for racial justice, with protests nationwide over the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and other African Americans by law enforcement. Among the voices: Black student-athletes at Oregon State University, who used their social media platforms to speak up about their own experiences and speak out against systemic racism.
They also launched a new platform — Dam Change — to educate, empower and enhance the experience of Black student-athletes and staff. Driven by student-athletes and supported by Oregon State Athletics, Dam Change is helping lead the fight against racism and inequality within the athletics community, across OSU and beyond.
